Beam height is measured from the top of the beam to the floor. It has a padded top and is covered with a heavy grade synthetic suede material. The material is durable and easy to clean.

This beam is constructed of two 6ft sections joined in the middle and secured from the bottom and supported by a center support.
The beam is made using cross grain laminated wood construction. This gives the beam its strength and prevents warping or twisting.The core is planed and sanded to the competition oval beam shape. Our beams are built as close as possible to competition beams for a realistic training experience. This includes the padding, covering and shape.
The support braces for the 12" beam legs are 18 in. wide and all other beam leg heights are 24" wide. They are made of 12 gauge structural steel with rubber end caps to protect the flooring beneath. This will make a great practice beam.

The reason for the cost difference is the beams weight, construction method and cost to ship. This beam weighs 180 lbs vs 42lbs for our 8ft beams. Because we have a longer span between the beam legs the beam must be much stronger and a different construction method and additional materials are used. The weight capacity also increases to 350 lbs. Because of the length of the beam it must be shipped with a freight carrier as opposed to FedEx or UPS and this substantially increases the cost to ship. It is shipped in a large wooden crate to eliminate damage.

4' x 16' x 2" CUSTOM FOLDING PANEL MAT
Mat configuration is a custom design from The Beam Store. The mats cover the metal beam legs and extend past the end of the beam on both ends. This provides 100% mat coverage around the beam.
All of our folding mats are designed and manufactured with the best materials available. We don't make different quality mats such as "regular" and "firm". All of our mats will be what other companies sell as their best "firm" mat. We use 18 oz. vinyl coated nylon (heavy vinyl) for the cover.
We reinforce all wear points such as corners. Our mat tops don't have any sewed seams except along the edges. We use 2" thick polyethylene foam.
